The Joy Of Breasts
|
is a provocative exhibit that celebrates the beauty, uniqueness and diversity of women's bodies. In her exhibit Raquel showcases more than 50 women in order to create this mass installation of over 120 visually compelling images of women's breasts.
Often the breasts best known to us are "media" breasts - perfectly shaped, sized and proportioned, displayed on magazines, in TV shows and at the movies. But what are real breasts like? Everyday breasts? Every woman's breasts? With these questions in mind and a camera in hand I put out a call to women who wished to bare it and be seen! 88 women responded, 4 transsexuals and one overly developed man. Out of the 93... 50 brave and beautiful women actually surrendered to my camera I thank them for sharing themselves with me and for allowing me to photograph them in all their glory So, here's to: The perfect I wish I had hers ones The aging I want to hang onto my youth ones The luscious round, want to pop out of my shirt ones The ain't it fun to have these ones The couple of hairs around her areola ones The how low can they go ones The perky, pierced and tattooed ones All of them unique All of them belonging to a woman And just in case you are wondering... only 1 of the 120 images belonging to me. |
